How to connect an Android Phone to your new Office 365 email account

Use the following instructions to connect your Android phone to your new Office 365 email account.

Because there are slightly different versions of the Android operating system available, if you are having trouble try one of the variations described. Visit the official Microsoft Help Guide for additional options if you are really stuck.

You will need to delete your previous account before you can reconnect to the new account.

How to delete previous account:

  1. Enter your Applications menu, then select Email (or Mail on some versions).
  2. Choose the Menu button (to the left of the home button) and choose Settings.
  3. Choose your currently connect Ursuline email account.
  4. Click the trash can in the top right hand corner.

Your old Ursuline account is now disconnected.

How to connect your new Office 365 email account.

  1.  Enter your Applications menu, then select Email (or Mail on some versions).
  2. Enter your full email address:
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Choose the Manual Setup option.
  5. Select Exchange Account or Exchange ActiveSync.
  6. Put in the following information
    • Email Address: your full email address. Example
    • Domain\username:
      or possibly\
    • Server:
    • Check the box for Secure Server
  7. Set your account options.
    *There is an option in some phones that says “Sync SMS”. This will send every text message you receive to your email. You probably don’t want this.
  8. Select Next
  9. Give your account a name. This is for your purposes only.
  10. Select Done.

The official Microsoft help guide states that there might be slight variations on domain/username information:

If Domain and Username are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty and type your full email address in the Username box.  

On some versions of Android, you must use the domain\username format. For example, if your email address is, type\ Your username is your full email address.
